Environmental Health

Environmental health can be defined as those characteristic of human health and disease that are determined by factors in the environment. It can also be refer to the theory and practice of reviewing and controlling factors in the environment that can potentially affect the health of a person.

It looks at the pathological effect of chemicals, radiation, and some biological agents and the effect of both indirect and direct on health and well-being of people. It also covers physical, psychological, social, and aesthetic environment in which it includes housing, urban development, use of land, and transports. Other related concerns also include nutrition, pollution, waste control, and public health.

When the well-being of the whole population is measured and assessed it then becomes an economic and political issue. With the increasing concern in healthy living it affects the fiscal policy and prompting some advocates to call for monetary reform.
